Our Story
Modern life asks a lot of us. Many of us spend our days balancing work, family, caregiving, financial pressures, constant technology, and responsibilities that leave little room to simply pause. Over time, chronic stress, burnout, grief, anxiety, and emotional exhaustion can become so familiar that we begin to accept them as normal.
At Victoria Rose Retreats, we believe there is another way. We believe healing shouldn't begin only after someone reaches their breaking point. It should be something we intentionally make space for throughout our lives. Our retreats are designed to offer more than a temporary escape. They provide an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself, regulate your nervous system, and return home with practical tools, renewed perspective, and a greater sense of balance.
Because we believe true wellness isn't about escaping from life. It's about returning to it with greater presence, resilience, and intention.
We believe slowing down is not an indulgence—it's an essential part of living well.
Our Mission
To create restorative spaces where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves, regulate their nervous systems, and return home healthier, more resilient, and more present.
Our Vision
We envision a future where preventative wellness experiences are as accessible and accepted as traditional healthcare. Through retreats, scholarships, community partnerships, and one day a permanent retreat center, we hope to make healing more accessible for everyone.
Our Values
-
We believe rest is not a luxury—it is an essential part of living well. Through mindfulness, movement, nature, and intentional rest, we create space to reconnect with ourselves and return home feeling more grounded, present, and renewed.
-
We strive to create welcoming, supportive spaces where people feel safe to show up exactly as they are. Compassion guides how we teach, how we serve, and how we care for every guest throughout their healing journey.
-
Meaningful relationships remind us that we are not alone. We foster genuine community by creating spaces where people can share experiences, build lasting friendships, and support one another with kindness, openness, and respect.
-
Our retreats are designed to be more than a temporary escape. Through yoga, mindfulness, and personal reflection, we hope every guest returns home with practical tools, renewed perspective, and habits that continue supporting their wellbeing.
-
We believe healing should be accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances. Through the Journey to Healing Fund, every retreat helps create opportunities for others to experience rest, connection, and renewal, allowing each guest to become part of something larger than themselves.
Meet Victoria
E-RYT 200 • RYT 500 • YACEP
Hi, I'm Victoria! I was eighteen years old when I enrolled in my first Yoga Teacher Training. At first my intention was simply to deepen my own practice, but what I experienced was far more transformative than I ever expected. Yoga became a source of healing, grounding, and personal growth during a time when I needed it most. By the time I graduated, I knew I wasn't just leaving with a certification—I had discovered a calling.
From that moment forward, I felt deeply drawn to share with others the same sense of healing, connection, and hope that yoga had given me.
A Leap of Faith
Within months of completing my training, I moved to La Ventana, Baja California Sur, Mexico, to help open Casa Tara Retreat Center. I didn't know anyone, couldn't speak any Spanish, and had no idea how profoundly the experience would shape my life.
For the next several years, I returned season after season, teaching yoga, offering massage therapy, and helping create meaningful retreat experiences for guests from around the world. During the summers, I returned to California, where I continued teaching in yoga studios, gyms, schools, juvenile hall, private sessions, and community programs.
The World Became My Classroom
Living in Mexico changed the way I viewed wellness. I fell in love with the slower pace of life, the warmth of the culture, and communities where people genuinely cared for one another. Later, studying yoga in Rishikesh, India, and traveling throughout Europe and South America deepened my appreciation for different cultures and their approaches to health, connection, and healing.
Travel has taught me that while every place is unique, people everywhere share the same desire to feel connected, supported, and at peace. That perspective continues to shape every Victoria Rose Retreat.
Why This Matters to Me
Life has also brought seasons of profound grief, uncertainty, and personal challenges that deepened my understanding of how important it is to care for our wellbeing before we reach a place of complete exhaustion.
Those experiences strengthened my belief that healing isn't about perfection or having all the answers. It's about creating space to breathe, reconnect, and move forward with greater resilience and hope. That belief became the foundation of Victoria Rose Retreats.
My Teaching Philosophy
One of the greatest compliments I've received throughout my years of teaching is that people feel comfortable, supported, and safe in my classes. Creating that sense of calm and belonging is something I value deeply.
Whether we're practicing yoga, sharing a meal, experiencing a sound bath, or simply watching the sunset together, my hope is that every guest feels welcomed exactly as they are.

Why the Journey to Healing Fund Matters to Me
Throughout my life, I've experienced seasons when I deeply needed space to rest, heal, and reconnect—but those opportunities simply weren't financially possible. There were times when I knew a retreat or time away could have made a meaningful difference, but it simply wasn't something I could afford.
Those experiences have stayed with me. They became one of the reasons I created the Journey to Healing Fund.
I don't believe healing should be reserved only for those with financial privilege. Everyone deserves the opportunity to step away from the demands of daily life, reconnect with themselves, and receive the support they need—before stress, burnout, or life's challenges become too overwhelming.
My hope is that, over time, Victoria Rose Retreats becomes more than a retreat company.
I hope it becomes a way to help make those opportunities possible for others.
Looking Ahead
Victoria Rose Retreats is only the beginning.
My dream is to one day create a permanent retreat center where healing is more accessible through scholarships, community partnerships, and affordable wellness programs.
Every retreat, every guest, and every donation helps bring that vision one step closer.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
